TUNG MONKEY
Tung Monkey (Lê Thanh Tùng) is a pioneering Vietnamese visual artist and creative director renowned for his innovative fusion of art and technology. Based in Ho Chi Minh City, he specializes in creating immersive experiences through digital illustration, large-scale projection mapping, and interactive media. His work, characterized by a playful and surreal style, has gained international recognition at events like the London Design Biennale and Expo Osaka.
Central to his artistic universe is KU, a whimsical and curious character who embodies the spirit of a dreamer. Often serving as the artist's alter ego, KU navigates fantastical worlds, representing the universal quest for discovery and the wonder of the inner child. The character is a recurring protagonist in many of Tung Monkey's most significant works, including the acclaimed "KU a Dreamer" installation at the Singapore Night Festival.
Beyond his individual practice, Tung Monkey is the founder of The Visual 084, a prominent collective of Vietnam's leading visual artists, designers, and creative studios. The group collaborates on ambitious projects, aiming to push the boundaries of visual art in Vietnam and connect local talent with the global stage. The Visual 084 stands as a testament to Tung Monkey's role not just as an artist, but as a key community-builder in the nation's contemporary creative scene.
